Texans Against Smart Meters is an organized citizenry all across the State of Texas demanding an immediate moratorium on the deployment of smart meters until studies regarding health hazards and Constitutional violations of privacy intrusions are addressed.  We will be launching a multi-pronged attack regarding these issues related to smart meters, and our greatest agenda is to UNITE via NETWORKING the many groups working on these issues so that we can be an information haven to others and a place to go where the many voices around the state of Texas can be heard!  We will support all of the groups around Texas in their local efforts and turn out in numbers when needed.

Over the past several years Smart Meter/Smart Grid technology has been deployed worldwide including in America. Literally tens of millions of meters and thousands of grids have been forced on the citizens of many countries by their utility providers without citizen input. This technology involves the replacement of analogue (spinning wheels inside), old-style electric meters with digital meters that communicate with a larger Smart Grid.  The Smart Meter, so-called because it can collect detailed information about energy usage in your home and communicate it back to a central command and control system at the utility company, communicates with the Smart Grid through pulses of radio frequency electromagnetic energy. Testing shows that most of the radio frequency pulses that occur numerous times per minute do not contain information about your utility usage but are for the purposes of the Smart Meter on your home or business synchronizing with the Smart Grid. Your Smart Meter will send detailed information about your electricity use around seven times a day. It has also been shown, despite the bleating of utility officials to the contrary, that Smart Meters emit RF energy at a strength around 300 times that of a cell phone. The installation of Smart Meters went to “warp speed” due to hundreds of millions of dollars funneled to utility companies through the federal stimulus program.

So, why should residents and customers of utility companies be so concerned about the use of Smart Meters?  We believe the concerns fall into the following areas: health problems, privacy, security, cost, and freedom.

In order to restore Constitutional governance in our cities and thereby contribute to the restoration of Constitutional governance throughout this country, we must have city officials who refocus their energy and their thinking back to the local level. The notion of “think globally, act locally” is horribly flawed. That indicates a top-down system of governance where global central planners make our decisions and control our lives for us. Our system was designed to be a bottom-up Republic where the people tell our governmental representatives what we want and they go do it. They are our employees. We are not their employees. The same should be true for any utility company since they are ultimately under the jurisdiction of our state government. Why have our public officials and our public utility companies so grossly failed in their prime directive to protect our health, our privacy, our security, and our freedom in the matter of Smart Meters/Smart Grids?
